Seashore Recycling & Ministry Of Interior Sustainability Collaboration

22 February 2021- Doha, Qatar- As a part of Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas’ Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the resort has collaborated with Seashore Recycling and the permanent Committee of Abu Samra Passage Department on 22nd February, 2022 to organise a beach clean-up on its 3.5kms of pristine beach overlooking its iconic lighthouse.

Seashore Recycling is a non-profit organisation that works to minimise pollution and waste in Qatar by collecting plastic, oil, metal and paper waste to recycle. As part of the cleanup drive, 80 staff participated and were able to remove 380 kilograms of recyclable waste from the beach.

Etienne Charles Gailliez, country general manager, Qatar and general manager Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, said: “It is our vision to minimise our impact on the environment through our “Travel With Purpose” initiative and to do our part to contribute towards sustainability in Qatar. =In 2021, we have recycled approximately 1,600 liters of solid waste and over 150 bales of carton. We are excited to kick off our efforts this year through this partnership with Seashore Recycling and look forward to many such collaborations in the nearest future.
